The heart of Dover is the Market Square with Dover Castle sitting high above the Town.
There are many cafe and restaurants which include Dickens Corner made famous in David Copperfield by Charles Dickens when David rested on it's steps. Charles Dickens was a fequent visitor to Dover and there are many other places where he lived or gave lecturers.
Dover is the only town that is not a city to have a giant screen for people to be able to watch the Olympic Games. In 1948 the Olympic torch came through Dover.
